The Business Management Agency of Universitas Sumatera Utara (BPU USU) held a follow-up coordination meeting with the Business Unit Restructuring Team to finalize the draft of the Rector’s Decree on the Guidelines for Business Unit Restructuring. The meeting occurred in the TTU Meeting Room, 3rd Floor of the USU Rectorate Building, and was chaired by the Head of BPU USU, Dr. Doli Muhammad Jafar Dalimunthe, S.E., M.Si.

The Rector’s Decree is being prepared as a follow-up to the Rector’s Regulation (Pertor) regarding restructuring business units within USU. The discussions covered the document structure, implementation procedures, and administrative requirements to be fulfilled by each business unit. The restructuring will address four key areas: legal framework, organizational structure, asset management, and governance.

The meeting also highlighted USU's business units' future direction and organizational model, including the potential transformation from government work units (satker) to limited liability companies (PT). Several business units currently operating as CVs are planned to be consolidated under PTs, with a continued emphasis on governance principles and business sustainability. In addition to legal considerations, the meeting also addressed the readiness of initial capital—both in the form of fixed assets and cash—as part of the initial investment for the restructured units.

In closing, it was emphasized that the restructuring process is expected to be completed no later than September 2025, which aligns with USU’s institutional strategic targets. Once the Rector’s Decree is signed, each area coordinator must promptly submit the relevant data and supporting documents. This meeting marks a step in USU’s journey toward more professional, efficient, and competitive business unit governance.
