The Business Management Agency of Universitas Sumatera Utara (BPU USU) organized a Technical Guidance Program on Marketing Services and Business Branding aimed at enhancing the professionalism of business unit and enterprise managers within the university.

Medan, November 6, 2025 – The Business Management Agency of Universitas Sumatera Utara (BPU USU) once again held a Technical Guidance (Bimtek) program on Marketing Services and Business Branding for USU Business Units and Enterprises. The activity took place at the Prof. Dr. Suhadji Hadibroto Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara.

This program was conducted as part of BPU USU’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacity and professionalism of business unit and enterprise managers across the university. Through this initiative, participants were expected to enhance their service strategies, marketing approaches, and business branding development to become more competitive and sustainable.

In his opening remarks, the Head of BPU USU, Dr. Doli Muhammad Jafar Dalimunthe, S.E., M.Si., emphasized that the program represents a strategic step in strengthening service quality and branding for university business units. He also highlighted the importance of professionalism and innovation in addressing business management challenges in the digital era.

The training materials were delivered by Hafiza Adlina, S.AB., M.AB., who presented the topic Fundamental Concepts of Marketing Services, and Dicky Wardhana, S.Sos., Founder of Lumen Creativa, who discussed Branding and Marketing Strategy. Participants gained insights into service excellence, effective customer communication, customer relationship management (CRM), as well as digital branding strategies and the marketing mix (7P) applicable to business unit management.

In addition to theoretical presentations, the program featured an interactive mini workshop where participants were guided to analyze the strengths and challenges of their respective business units using the marketing DNA approach and branding strategy canvas. The workshop sessions also included completing the 7P framework—Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People, Process, and Physical Evidence—and creating Google Business accounts for each USU Business Unit and Enterprise as an initial step toward strengthening digital presence and online service accessibility.

The Technical Guidance program also introduced the USU Marketing Services and Business Branding Handbook, compiled by the BPU USU team, as a practical guide for all business unit and enterprise managers in implementing professional, transparent, and customer-oriented service and marketing practices.

Through this initiative, it is expected that participants will be able to apply the acquired concepts to improve service quality, strengthen business identity, and support the achievement of the university’s financial independence objectives.
