On November 20, 2024, the Universitas Sumatera Utara Business Management Agency conducted a benchmarking visit to the Universitas Brawijaya Business Management Agency. During this visit, several crucial insights were noted.
One particularly noteworthy aspect was that Universitas Brawijaya Hospital operates under the supervision of the Universitas Brawijaya Business Management Agency. This aligns with Universitas Sumatera Utara Rector’s Regulation No. 1 of 2024 on USU’s Business Operations, which places Universitas Sumatera Utara Hospital under the supervision of the USU Business Management Agency.
However, an interesting distinction was observed: Universitas Brawijaya’s Rector’s Regulation explicitly establishes a Special Business Unit as the legal framework for the University Hospital, allowing it to function as both a business entity and a healthcare service provider simultaneously.
