The Business Management Agency of Universitas Sumatera Utara visited the Language Center of Universitas Sumatera Utara to discuss a potential collaboration to be carried out between the Language Center and the Regional Education Office VI Pematang Siantar. The visit aimed to formulate concrete steps in implementing the English Competency Test (ECT), which is planned to be held within the jurisdiction of the Regional Education Office VI Pematang Siantar, North Sumatra Province. This program is expected to improve English proficiency among educators and students in the region, which aligns with the increasing importance of foreign language skills in education and employment.
On this occasion, the Language Center and the Business Management Agency of Universitas Sumatera Utara held discussions regarding the technical aspects of ECT implementation, covering topics such as testing methods, implementation schedules, and the preparation of exam materials following established standards. This collaboration also aims to improve the quality of English language teaching in the Pematang Siantar area, especially for teachers and educators. In this discussion, the Regional Education Office VI Pematang Siantar also participated by providing input on the needs and challenges encountered in implementing the program.
This collaboration is a strategic step in strengthening English language competence among educators and students in the North Sumatra region. Through the ECT, it is hoped that educators will obtain English competency certification that can serve as a reference for developing better teaching methods in schools. In its role of assisting, the Business Management Agency of Universitas Sumatera Utara is committed to ensuring that the program runs smoothly and delivers maximum benefits for the education sector in Pematang Siantar.
